Air Power Park
A cool little roadside aviation park. All of the outdoor exhibits are aircraft and rockets from the 50’s and 60’s. All are in pretty good shape and have a display plaque that describes the equipment. The inside rotunda is loaded with model aircraft and rockets covering the gamut of aviation. It’s a cool little place to visit if you have time to kill.

Buckroe Beach and Park
Love the beach, but not the traffic and hassle of going through the tunnel to get there? Discover Buckroe Beach! Our incredible ¾-mile beach offers a panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean as you look across the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Sink your toes into our clean sandy beach, enjoy our sparkling water and gentle surf, and watch ocean-going ships coming into port. The season kicks off on Memorial Day and runs through Labor Day. The beach is open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with lifeguards on staff during those hours. A playground and picnic shelters for families & groups are available separate from the beach.
Fort Monroe National Monument
The Fort has a very interesting history plus it was an active military fort until very recently so there is a lot of more modern history as well. One unique feature is that service members who were stationed there were allowed to bury their family pets into the fort walls so that was really touching to see all the headstones dedicated to these family members. it really brings it home that not just soldiers but their whole families lived at this base. Walking the base and the visitor's center only takes an hour or two. Well worth the stop if you are in the Virginia Beach area
Grandview Nature Preserve
Grandview Nature Preserve is open to the public free and forms the northeast corner of the city of Hampton. The Preserve covers over 475 acres of salt marsh, tidal creeks, and Chesapeake Bay beachfront. The Preserve is a great location to beach comb, observe the migratory birds, and photography. It is also a great place for fishing. You will need to obtain a saltwater fishing license from Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

Buckroe Beach Carousel, also known as Philadelphia Toboggan Company Number Fifty and the Hampton Carousel, is a historic carousel operated by the Hampton History Museum in Hampton, Virginia. It was built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and installed at Buckroe Beach
